Hey y’all! I know I haven’t written anything in a while—life and work has been busy, but I wanted to share my birthday celebration with you!

First, I want to say how grateful I am for all of the birthday well wishes from family and friends. It really makes your day special when people acknowledge your existence by wishing you a Happy Birthday.

Yesterday I turned 39! I am the type of person that celebrates all month long by doing things I love to do and my actual birthday is the culmination of the month long celebration. I originally was going to go out of the country again, but of course COVID thwarted those plans. However, I adopted the theme, “Eat Good and Drink even Better” this year and that is exactly what I did!

Yesterday I started out the day with champagne and self care. I had stayed up until midnight and popped a bottle of Moët and poured a celebratory glass. When I woke up for the official day, I got my nails done and after that I went to my esthetician for a back exfoliation and massage. I fell asleep on that table because the service was so relaxing! After that, I had lunch at McCormick and Schmicks where I had raw oysters (which I love) and a nice glass of champagne. After lunch, I got cupcakes from Crave Cupcakes. Then it was time for a nap! I didn’t fall asleep until about 4:00 am and was back up at 7:30 so I needed some sleep!

I woke up around 6:00 pm. I wanted a nice birthday dinner to round out the day so I ordered from one of my favorite chain restaurants, Eddie V’s. I ordered a crab cake for appetizer, Lobster and white cheddar mashed potatoes and a 12oz center cut filet mignon, medium rare. I love a good restaurant dine in experience, but due to COVID, I want to take as many precautions as possible so I picked up the dinner and bought it home. It was delicious! I went to bed full and happy.

When you read my birthday celebration, I am sure you noticed that I didn’t not mention other people outside of the well wishes I was sent. That is because I celebrated solo! As a matter of fact, most times I celebrate my birthday by myself! God had granted me a gift of not needing people to do things and I want to do. I truly enjoy my own company. If people are involved in any way, it is just icing on the cake, but definitely not needed.

I encourage single women not to settle for your life and celebrate YOU! Don’t wait in anyone to celebrate your birthday or any other day. As single women we have the gift of spoiling ourselves and treating ourselves to the best that life has to offer. You NEVER need permission to celebrate your existence and honor the value of your life!

Be blessed!
