So I heard @ayeshakfaines say this on a @thegrapevinetv episode and it is so true! As we approach #valentinesday, singles can sometimes get down because they don’t have a partner. Just remember that where you are in life is exactly where you should be and you can still celebrate love. Celebrate the love for yourself, love for friends and love for family. We have been taught that the fairy tale life is having the spouse, house, great job and kids. Just because society has taught us this doesn’t make it necessarily so. The fairy tale life is the life that is lived on purpose, grace, love and confidence! People are so conditioned that being married and having kids is the ultimate life that people are willing to marry strangers on a reality show for six weeks. Although there is no formula to love and partnership, the willingness to do that is a microcosm of how we are warped into thinking that we are incomplete if we don’t marry. Instead of waiting on a spouse, start figuring out what is YOUR fairy tale without the spouse being part of the equation. Once you begin that journey, may figure out that a lot of desire was based on social conditioning and wanting to fit in with others. It is perfectly normal to desire marriage, but is it a HEALTHY desire? Again, what is YOUR fairy tale life? It may NOT include marriage.
